There is a Shrine which is known as the God of the feet, called Hattori-Tenjingu.
It’s located close to Hattori-Tenjin station on the Hankyu Takarazuka Line.
At first, the shrine worshiped the god of medicine, named Sukunabikona no Mikoto, after that Sugawara no Michizane, known as the god of learning, was enshrined in the shrine.
Since Sugawara no Michizane suffered from foot illness on the way from Kyoto to Kyushu-Dazaifu, he visited at the shrine, then he recovered from foot illness.
For that reason, Hattori-Tenjingu became known as the God of the feet.

People who are suffering from foot illness and athletes such as soccer, marathon and baseball are visiting Hattori-Tenjingu.
