Kitano Ijinkan is one of the representative tourist spots in Kobe City, Hyogo. Kitano Ijinkan is the luxury place which has various wonderful Western-style houses. From Shin-Kobe Station and Sannomiya Station, there is the city loop bus, which is a circular bus, and it is convenient because you can easily reach the Ijinkan-gai.
The Kitano Ijinkan were built by foreign architects on the uptown hill of Yamate as a foreign settlement visiting Japan from the Meiji era to the Taisho era after the opening of Kobe Port. At that time, there were more than 200 Ijinkan houses, but now there are about 30 houses left. Although there are few buildings currently open to the public, you can visit the Ijinkan while looking at the luxuriously decorated living room, antique furniture and Works of art in the colonial style architecture.
As you go up the hill, the flags of foreign countries are blown in the wind, making you feel like you are walking along a European path.
There are several power spots in the Ijinkan-gai, such as the statue of an animal that make you lucky when you touch the animal’s nose, and chairs that it is said that the dream comes true when you sit down and make a wish. It is one of the pleasures to go around Ijinkan while finding them.
