TENNOJI-Park in Osaka
In 1903 (Meiji 36), Osaka’s first exposition, the “5th National Industrial Exhibition,” was held, and Osaka has grown significantly since then.
In 1909, Tennoji Park was opened on the remained site. Today, it is the representative municipal park in Osaka. The park has the large lawn area, a museum, a zoo, restaurants and convenience stores. Abeno Harukas, the tallest building in Japan, can be seen in the immediate vicinity from the park.
Tennoji-Zoo
Tennoji-Zoo has a long history. It opened on January 1 in 1915 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2015, Tennoji-Zoo has the third longest history in Japan.
The Zoo has some zones like “the Asian Tropical Rainforest Zone” that reproduces the environment where Asian elephants live. Animal habitat environment is recreated as much as possible.
While being in the city, you can see the landscape of the habitat in which each animal lives.
Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts
The museum was opened in 1936 at the site of the Sumitomo family’s residence, donated by the Sumitomo family.
It was built as a place for citizens to come into contact with art and culture, and to contribute to the promotion of culture in Osaka.
The museum is located in the park. France exhibition was held at the museum on that day.
I was impressed by the prestigious art works.
the locally-produced market
A lot of vegetables and fruits are piled up. They sell a wide variety of other ingredients. You can get fresh food every day here.
